Data Multiplexer (1TH-DMUX)
The RadioScape DAB Data Multiplexer takes either single or multiple streams of raw data or data groups, and converts them into packets suitable for transmission in DAB compliant stream and packet sub-channels for broadcast by the RadioScape Ensemble Multiplexer.

Features

  • Optional PRBS Generator
  • Compatible with ETSI EN 300 401 v1.4.1 DAB standard
  • Future-proof equipment - all Stream and Packet multiplexing performed in software
  • Seamless integration with the Ensemble Multiplexer
  • Controlled and monitored by the Broadcast Manager and Scheduler
  • Seamless dynamic data reconfigurations
  • Can be run on a separate hardware platform for data isolation
  • Error reporting via either TTL relay closures or SNMP traps.

Packet Mode

  • Full statistical multiplexing of fixed and variable rate Packet and data group sources
  • A combination of prioritized and weighted bandwidth allocation
  • Supports the multiplexing of multiple data group sources into each packet data subchannel
  • Capable of simultaneously providing multiple stream packet sub-channels
  • Data input either from a socket or via a Microsoft DCOM interface
  • Support for data group sources such as MOT Carousel (for Broadcast Website and Slide Show applications) and IP Streaming

Stream Mode

  • Can allocate the entire ensemble for stream mode data server
  • Allows full control of the Transport Data Channel (TDC)

Statistical Multiplexing

The Data Multiplexer handles the situation where there are multiple packet data group sources each with different bandwidth and latency requirements by performing statistical multiplexing, splitting the bandwidth between data inputs according to the current requirements from each of the inputs. The Data Multiplexer regulates data input priority for different types of data input according to criteria which are specified in the Scheduler.
